When Good Glass Doesn’t Have to Cost a Fortune

My First Impression

The first thing I noticed was how solid it feels.

The rubber armor gives a secure grip, every control moves smoothly, and nothing feels cheap.

Mounted on my Vortex Mountain Pass tripod, the setup feels stable enough for long observation sessions.

Whether I’m sitting on a mountain ridge or glassing open fields, I know the scope will stay exactly where I leave it.

Real World Performance

This is where the Crossfire surprised me.

I’ve used it to observe wildlife at distances of over a mile.

During one of my trips to Denali National Park, I spent almost an hour watching distant wildlife that was barely visible with binoculars.

Through the Crossfire I could clearly study the animals’ behavior instead of just seeing moving dots.

The image remains bright and sharp through most of the zoom range.

Of course not.

Things That Could Be Better

Nothing is perfect.

This spotting scope is fairly large and not particularly lightweight.

If you’re hiking all day in steep mountains, you’ll definitely notice the weight in your backpack.

At the maximum 60x magnification, the image loses some sharpness compared with premium optics.

But honestly…

That’s exactly what I expected at this price point.
